Naacp, Jump, Rep. Brenda Gilmore, & Mayor’s Office To Address Public
Nashville, TN June 27, 2013– The NAACP, JUMP, and the Black Chamber of Commerce will host a forum to discuss AMP, Metro’s Rapid Transit project. Presentations will be made by the Mayor’s office and by Rep. Brenda Gilmore (a member of the NAACP Executive Committee). Questions will be addressed immediately following.
The AMP project is in it’s third phase of a three-phase federal process and is now seeking over 70 million dollars in federal funds to move forward with the controversial transit system. This panel will address concerns and help explain what this project means to community. The forum will begin promptly at 6pm and will be held at the Matthew Walker Comprehensive Health Center, located at 1035 14th Avenue North Nashville TN 37208.
