Inspiration, excitement, laughter, cheer, and celebration were all in the air. That is the feeling that hundreds of people received on June 8, 2013 at the Leading Ladies Mega Book Signing Event in Unity Celebration at the Clarksville William O. Beach Civic Hall.
The 2013 Unity Day Celebration was combined with this years Leading Ladies Mega Book Signing event. “The event was a great success,” said Treva Gordon, founder of Clarksville Unity Day and author of her new book titled Leading Ladies Sharing Our Stories of Inspiration and Faith. At the book signing, many people also came out to celebrate Clarksville Unity Day. “Unity Day is a great time where we celebrate our diverse leadership throughout our community. This is our 4th year. It means so much when people from every walk of life can come together to honor and help celebrate people with integrity who serve in ministry, business, military, non-profit organizations, and more,” said Gordon.
Unity Day first began in 2010 and throughout the years has recognized and honored more than 75 men and women from various backgrounds and communities. Each year in the month of June, the event is hosted by Clarksville’s prominent business leaders, Attorney Kevin C. Kennedy and Yolanda Stewart of F&M Bank. This year more than 600 people filled the room as 40 plus women signed autographs of every person who purchased a book. Special guest in attendance were: Mrs. Rosetta Perry of the Tennessee Tribune, TN State Representative Joe Pitts, Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan, Clarksville Montgomery County Mayor Carolyn Bowers, and more.

The book, Leading Ladies Sharing Our Stories of Inspiration and Faith, by Treva Gordon is the combination of more than 50 women who all share their personal stories and or testimonies to inspire women and men of all backgrounds and faiths to win and to succeed. Some of the book highlights include chapters by Tennessee ’s 1st Woman Speaker of the House of Representatives Honorable Beth Harwell, Katherine Purnell, campus president of Daymar Institute, Pastor Ginger Luffman of Faith Outreach Church , Clarksville , TN , Mrs. Servella Terry, Executive Director of Tabernacle Christian School , and more.
