Atlantic Records recording artist Lupe Fiasco brought his “Tetsuo & Youth” tour to Nashville recently. Doing something that is not normally done in the music industry, Lupe Fiasco is on a preview tour, giving his fans a chance to witness him perform new songs from his upcoming album “Tetsuo & Youth.” Fiasco has maintained a level of consistency for just under a decade, has achieved a lot of success, hit songs and a long list of Grammy nominations all included. Fiasco recently stated, “This tour will be fun, it will be exciting, fans will get to hear new songs off of my upcoming album and all of the songs that my fans have grown to love me for.”
Lupe Fiasco opened his set performing records from his new album “Tetsuo & Youth.” Although these songs were not familiar to the crowd, die hard fans still found themselves enjoying every second of the new project. Lupe then transitioned into performing records from his previous albums. He performed singles from his critically acclaimed first album, “Lupe Fiasco’s Food & Liquor, “I Gotcha” and “Kick, Push.” Mr. Lupe then went on to perform a fan favorite and socially conscious record, “Bad.” Songs from his second album followed. This is the CD .that earned him several Grammy nominations, including Best Rap Album, the fan favorite single “Superstar.” Lupe closed his show by performing his famous verse from the Kanye West single, “Touch The Sky” and the summer smash “The Show Goes On.”
Lupe Fiasco’s concert is not a tour full of dancing records, but a tour of bringing back the lyricism and the songs you can still enjoy. The “Tetsuo & Youth” tour is a tour that highlights Lupe’s consistency, and his skill at balancing between mainstream and underground. The “Tetsuo & Youth” is still on fresh legs and there is plenty of time left to see him when he comes to your city.
