NASHVILLE — Become part of history and join a FREE event celebrating the life and legacy of Nelson Mandela. “Madiba, we mourn your death but celebrate your legacy.” In the spirit of the words of President Zuma of South Africa, we should all work together to organize the most befitting memorial for this outstanding father of Africa and ICON of the World.

Activities include tributes and performances representing numerous nations. Doors will open at 3:45pm and patrons will have an opportunity to write their condolences and memories of Mandela on a poster similar to the one outside his old house in Soweto, Johannesburg and also sign a memorial book. “The poster will be publicly displayed in Nashville for years to come and provide an opportunity for Madiba to continually live in our hearts and walk among us right here while the memorial book will be sent to South Africa.” — Chris Inkum, one of the organizers.

“What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will  determine the significance of the life we lead.” — Nelson Mandela
