Thandiwe’s stories incorporate her passion for rhythmic language and are often enhanced by music, call and response, and sounds made from traditional hand percussion and unconventional instruments. Hymnology in The Black Church: Saturday, February 9, 2013 11:00 AM at North Branch Library. Minister Gregory Taylor – who recently made a presentation at the Frist Center – will present the history of singing hymns in the black church and its therapeutic effect on its listeners. Mr. Taylor will also highlight the life and music of nationally renowned hymnologist Dr. J. Robert Bradley, and his connection to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Contact: North Library (615) 862-5858.
