The GLOBAL EDUCATION CENTER is a nonprofit arts education center for students, teachers and the community in the area of multicultural, anti-bias education. Using the arts as a pathway to understanding the various cultural, ethnic and religious groups residing in our community, the Center’s staff and teaching and performing artists present ongoing classes, workshops, lecture-demonstrations and performances to promote cross-cultural understanding and respect. The overall goal is to highlight the commonalities of all people while creating experiences in the arts that aid in dispelling myths, dismantling stereotypes, unlearning biases and alleviating fears.
The ARTS A.C.C.E.S.S. (Affordable Community Concerts for Everyone – Students to Seniors) is in its 17th year of bringing world-renowned performers to Middle Tennessee with a goal of introducing the community to the diverse cultural traditions of international artists while promoting cross-cultural understanding and respect. With each community performance, we provide community workshops and master classes for local artists with a goal of helping them expand their own repertoires and increase their artistic professionalism. We also organize youth programming and school presentations in conjunction with visiting guest artists.
