LiveWorkLearnPlay’s Craige Hoover to lead citizen discussion
NASHVILLE—NashvilleNext will host a Community Conversation on culture and placemaking on Thursday, July 10, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Martin Professional Development Center (2400 Fairfax Avenue).
“What we build impacts how we think about a place, whether it’s a park, a neighborhood or an entire city,” said Rick Bernhardt, Metro Planning Department executive director. “We can encourage and emphasize an area’s unique culture and values based on how, where and what we build.”
Craige Hoover, planning consultant and LiveWorkLearnPlay’s Southeast director, will lead a discussion about how the built environment can better support the unique cultures of Nashville’s many and varied communities. Hoover also serves on the Arts, Culture and Creativity Resource Team for NashvilleNext and co-wrote a NashvilleNext background report on arts and culture.
This is the second Town Hall meeting during the “Pick Nashville’s Future!” phase. More than 300 community members participated in last week’s Affordable Housing and Gentrification discussion, and more Community Conversations may be added over the next few months.
