The Ride 2 Thrive event will be held on Saturday, April 20, from 11am to 5pm in Hartman Park, 2801 Tucker Road, and offers an array of services including free health screenings.
Demitria Vaughn, Metro Social Services’ director of programs said the purpose of this new annual event is to share resources and information and bring awareness to our community on the issues that affect people’s lives on a daily basis.
“Ride 2 Thrive will enable citizens to come together in an environment which promotes positive, safe, and healthy daily living tools that we all need to thrive in our lives,” Vaughn said, adding that the event is free and open to the entire community.
Metro Social Services Executive Director Renée Pratt said the goal was to engage communities in North Nashville.
“We are trying to reach out to neighborhoods where we know residents are at higher risk of health issues due to poverty-related outcomes,” Pratt said. “Our organization is looking at proactive measures that allow us to directly engage with communities with high poverty rates.”
